Recently I have set up multiple PMR internet gatways linking two towns in Monmouthshire linking them with other gateways across the country

Free Radio network is available to download on Microsoft windows devices. Simply, download the software, complete the registration, and then browse through the many Servers hosted across the world.

Users are able to Host Internet RF gateways, by using what is known as an “Interface”. th

Im using a DIY interface based on the diagram below

I have a few Baofeng BF-888s UHF radios which are programmed to PMR446 (500mw ERP). I have recently hooked a few of these up to FRN, to create the “Chepstow & Caldicot PMR Internet Gateways” They are accessible on PMR CH6 (446.06875MHz FM) and requires CTCSS 131.8Hz to access the gateway.

To check if you can access the gateway you can simply key up and Say the Following “This is YOUR NAME HERE Checking for access to the gateway” within a second or two from de-keying your radio you will hear the Gateway return a 3 tone bleep meaning you have accessed the gateway.
