Plane Tracking Radar

Writer's picture: Sean CrabbeSean Crabbe

One of my latest and probably one of my longest ongoing projects has been a plane tracking website. I have so far been successful using Virtual Radar Server (VRS) to actually output the location of the plane onto a map and display it into a web browser.

the receiver is just a raspberry pi computer running Dump1090 decoding the data received from the aircraft via an RTL SDR dongle as well as receiving data from some public sources such as ADSB Hub and my personal MLAT Server that is currently provided data from multiple receivers in and around my local area.

A full guide on how to do all this and set it all up is coming soon!! In the meantime check the radar out using the link below.
